Redhill’s Ben Davies produced the performance of his career on Saturday night at the Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey to capture his second title in the UK’s premier boxing league.

The 24-year-old Middleweight star beat Sidcup rival Tom Dolan by a unanimous points decision in front of a capacity crowd at the famous Surrey racecourse, and Davies who promised his fans a night to remember made good on his word by sending fellow challenger Dolan to the canvas on route to a famous victory.

Talking to British Eurosport directly after the contest the delighted new champion said, “I’m absolutely buzzing after winning that title and the adrenaline is still pumping from a great fight.

“This fight was all about me really making my mark in UK’s premier boxing league and getting people to notice me, and with that performance I think I did just that.

“Tom was a good strong opponent and he did hit me with some good shots, but when I knocked him down I knew my power could hurt him but fair play he’s a great fighter and I’m just so happy to get the win and my second title."

And after the victory Queensbury Boxing League promotions director Alan Foley said Davies' win had opened up a lot of possibilities for the champion.

He added: “Ben’s fight with Tom was a real 50/50 fight that could have gone either way before the fight, but Ben showed just why he’s so exciting to watch with that performance.

“The Middleweight division is the most exciting in the country at the moment and Ben is right in the mix of that now, so he’ll probably feature at the competitions big season finale in November when he will defend his title."

Davies latest win will be shown on British Eurosport later in October.
